Introduction
NetSim
is developed by TETCOS, specialized in communication software & hardware.
NetSim, a first kind educational network simulator software has proved to be an
indispensable tool for network lab experimentation, research and development.
The software provides an opportunity to understand the network experiments with
various LAN & MAN protocols, network devices, real time packet capture,
encryption, decryption etc. A key feature of NetSim is the analysis of
performance metrics. NetSim also includes programming exercises using C/C++.
NetSim comprises of 9 components including TCP/IP, Aloha, and different
protocols of LAN, WAN and Traffic Shaping.
Different LAN components –
- LAN Component I - Aloha, Slotted Aloha, Slotted Aloha, CSMA, Ethernet, Token ring, Token bus.
- LAN Component II - Netpetrol (Real Time Packet Capture)
- LAN Component III - Wireless LAN
- LAN Component IV - Switch
- WAN Component V - X.25
- WAN Component VI - Frame Relay
- WAN Component VII - Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
- WAN Component VIII - Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol (TCP/ IP)
- WAN Component IX - Router
