Introduction
The wireless communication systems provided by
SeaSolve Software Inc supports research, design and development in the areas of
mobile, wireless communications. These solutions will enable both graduate and
undergraduate research programs to design and develop efficient, cost-effective,
platforms for building simulations of latest wireless communication standards,
compared to expensive, inflexible, and time-consuming conventional design and
test procedures. The tools can also be used for developing test benches for
testing wireless products for conformance to standards, chip verification,
validation, compliance, pre certification and interoperability testing.
SeaSolve's innovative dedicated Wireless research and test solutions comprise of
highly customizable, cost-effective and easy-to-use all-in-one systems
integrating the functionality of high performance RF signal generators (RFSG),
RF signal analysers(RFSA), and LabVIEW to create flexible and scalable design,
analysis, measurement, test and control applications rapidly and at minimum
cost. With seasolve's solutions, developers interface with real world signals,
generate signals, analyse data for meaningful information and share results and
applications. Currently, the main focus of our solutions is: Transmitting and
Receiving Wireless Signals with PXI.
- Using the NI PXI-5421, a 100 MS/s 16-bit arbitrary waveform
generator, and the NI PXI-5620, a 64 MS/s 14-bit frequency domain digitizer. The
PXI-5421 and PXI-5620 are ideal for communication applications because they
combine high resolution and deep memory to facilitate the generation and
digitization of long, precise aperiodic waveforms. In addition, the NI PXI-5610
and PXI-5600 modules can respectively upconvert and downconvert the baseband
signals to frequencies up to 2.7 GHz.
- Design and performance evaluation of wireless PHY/RF layer
protocols with focus on ad hoc, multihop, self configuring
networks.
- Development/maintenance of a simulation platform based on
the LabVIEW language which will serve for consistent analysis and measurement of
PHY layer parameters.
- Implementation and testing of key standards based protocols
and applications using a wireless network test-bed which is based on RF signal
generators and signal .

WLAN; up to 250 kbps for WPAN.
- High modulation accuracy.
- Supports all modulation formats and techniques.
- Fully-coded PHY frames that enables FER, PER, and BER for
testing receiver sensitivity.
- User defined, predefined, text, and PRBS data generator.
- Complete MAC functionality – Configure all frames and sub
frames.
- Impairments Supported – Memory-less Nonlinearity, AWGN,
Frequency Offset, DC Offset, I/Q gain imbalance, Quadrature skew, Phase noise.

power, Power Spectrum, CCDF.
- Functionality to create a WiMAX frame with user-configurable
downlink and uplink bursts for base station and subscriber stations
respectively.
- Channel models - IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11b & 802.11g
(JTC) (Hiperlan2). IEEE 802.16d (SUI) (WiMAX), IEEE 802.16e (ETSI-UMTS) (HSDPA)-
mobile WiMAX, IEEE 802.15.4 (WPAN), IEEE 802.11n (MIMO-OFDM Channel model) and
IEEE 802.15.3a (UWB).
Salient features of Real Time Signal Analysis Solution
- RF Input Frequency ranges – 868/915/2450 MHz bands.
- Real time data display, with real time simulation of the
results.
- Load/save signal files in standard file formats for further
analysis.
- Reports on erratic or incomplete data, Examine symbol
behavior (eye-diagram).
- Error Vector Magnitude (EVM) spectrum and time plots for
sensitive examination of signal errors.
- Constellation diagrams for an overall indication of signal
behavior and clues to the cause of a problem.
- Signal analysis in Time and Frequency domains to analyze
changing phase, magnitude and frequency. It supports Graphic Utilities for
better visualization.
- Analyzer provides for packet detection, offset correction,
channel estimation & correction, pilot tracking, etc..
- Decodes complete MAC layer information.
- Some tolls like the WiMAX solution provides analysis of Full
Frame data (BS and SSs combined),DL subframe data (BS), and/or UL subframe data
(SSs).
- Offers Maximum flexibility in selecting the test (any one of
the 14 tests) and the channel for transmission (any one of the 16 channels).
- Provides high accuracy to measure IEEE 802.11/802.15.4 (2.4
GHz) signals.
- Reduces testing time.
